Jerry’s, Eugene’s original discount building material store, was founded in November of 1961 by Jerry and Merle Orem. Fifty-eight years later, Jerry’s has grown from 2 employees to hundreds. Jerry’s opened for business with a 5,000 sq. ft. store located just 2 blocks south of the Eugene store on Highway 99 North. After many remodels and expansions, Jerry’s ran out of space. In December of 1985, with just over 20 employees, Jerry’s moved to a larger store on the corner of Highway 99 North and Beltline. Again, after several remodels and expansions, Jerry’s needed more room to grow.

In November of 1996, Jerry‘s opened the doors of a brand new 350,000 sq. ft. facility on the corner of Highway 99 North and Beltline, and closed the doors of the smaller store. That store was located where the current front entrance drive is today.
After many customer requests, and wanting to provide two convenient locations, Jerry’s opened a second store in January 2003 in Springfield at 2525 Olympic Street to better serve customers.

In December of 2010, Dennis Orem announced he was transitioning ownership to the employees through an ESOP, allowing them to become shareholders and partners in Jerry’s growth. A lot has changed since 1961, but one thing that remains the same is the tradition and commitment to consistently strive to provide you with the best customer service and the products you need at competitive prices.

Ever since leaving his small home town in Nayarit, Mexico at the age of 17, it was always Luis Omar's dream to own a restaurant. For over 20 years he worked hard to perfect his culinary craft, until he put his dreams on hold in 2006, deciding to take a job in construction to better support his growing family. Fast forward to 2020, with the help of friends and family, his dreams were reinvigorated and MBOSQ was born.

Desde que dejó su pequeño pueblo natal en Nayarit, México a la edad de 17 años, siempre fue el sueño de Luis Omar tener un restaurante.
